Wowee for Walls

I've just finished working on a styling job for Wallpaper Direct  it was so much fun to do but quite hard to choose what wallpapers to pick for each shot from their amazing site as was bamboozled by the selection. Do take a look at the site as if you fancy some wicked wallpaper in your home it's a one stop shop with loads of top brands online as well as great tips and practical advice. I've done some exciting Christmas shots for them too and ok it sounds miles away yet so i'll keep them under wraps - ha ha! for now but will post them up once the Christmas lights are on in the West End -

I've just been sighiiiiiiing...... over this beautiful site by textile designer Catherine Hammerton... not only is her site a joy to look at but her products are inspiring too. Really makes we want to get that scrap book out and get crafting straight away...http://www.catherinehammerton.com/

I do love a tea towel or two...

Ok - this might seem rather weird to some but i collect tea towels and tend to buy them whenever i go on holiday as a memento of the place i've visited  -so forget plains and checks and i'll have complete guide to pasta from Italy,  French cheeses from the Dordogne and the New York skyline from the big apple - lovely!

With my tea towel addiction i just can't resist looking at these 'ever so posh' ones from the tea towel experts  To Dry For http://www.todryfor.com/default.asp which are just far too nice to hide away in your  drawer - so leave your crocks to drain and why not be a bit creative and display them in a frame or make into a cushion...

It's finally up and running....

It's raining and dreary (did we have a summer?) but anyway welcome to my blog which if like me you love home furnishings, shopping or making things for your home I hope you'll find useful as well as inspiring!
As a freelance interiors stylist and journalist putting together photoshoots for magazines and home furnishing brands i'm constantly traipsing up and down high streets around the country (always sensible shoes!)  more times that you'd like to imagine looking at all the lovely homey things that are around so... i thought it was about time that i got "you'll love it too... " up and running as a sort of scrapbook of what i see and love both on my travels and from my hours rummaging around on the web.

Being a stylist makes you a bit of a compulsive window shopper or maybe a compulsive shopper should become  a stylist? but what I love about my job is that I get really excited seeing and discovering new things - ok hands up.... comparing this to the bigger picture it is a bit superfluous - a shiny shell, new cushion or making a card aren't going to change the world but it feels really great when you unearth something a little bit different that is a great idea for a decorating shoot or just to add a style-y touch to your home- whether it's a swatch of fabric, piece of china, or even a pretty postcard that you love...it's sure to give you the feel good factor and inject your personality into your home...

To whet your appetite for those Autumn days on their way  - little things with big appeal from one of my  favourite staple mail order companies for inspiring and unusual finds Plumo http://www.plumo.com/living_template.htm  - their new Autumn/Winter collection is just perfect for brightening up this gloomy old day ....
